Nebraska won a hard fought match against Missouri 20-25, 25-20, 32-30, 25-11. This match had you cheering, sweating and yelling. This was an up and down match on many levels.
The Huskers started slow and couldn’t recover in set one as the Missouri Tigers came at them fast and with fire. The Tigers came to win and they challenged Nebraska in lots of ways. The outside hitters for Missouri were very different but both effective against a great NU defense.
The Tigers also never let a ball go. They pursued everything and brought back ball to play that most teams couldn’t. They believed they could win!
Nebraska lost set one but began to play their own game in the second. Jazz Sweet was a consistent and impressive player tonight. She created 17 kills and hit .438. Callie Schwarzenbach had key plays in the come back win. Nicklin Hames set a wonderful game and continues to impress.
Nebraska is in the sweet 16 and plays the winner of the San Diego vs #15 Hawaii match that plays later tonight in Hawaii.
