Nebraska Football: Lamar Jackson playing to the very end – Husker Corner

Lamar Jackson is making every last snap count for Nebraska Football.

Let’s be honest, the Nebraska Football defense has not been that great this season. From the line to the secondary, it seems like they have regressed a bit. However, they have been some individual efforts that have been impressive.

One player who was really stood out this season is Lamar Jackson. Jackson has seemed to play at a consistent level and has been one of the better cover corners in the secondary. There is certainly something to be said for that, especially with some of the wide receivers Nebraska Football has had to face. As we enter into the final couple of weeks, it’s worth noting how well Jackson has done this season.

On the year, Jackson has recorded 35 tackles, a sack, and three interceptions. In addition, he has deflected 12 passes. The 35 tackles are his most since the 2017 season. That year, he had 38. He is definitely going to break that number if all goes well in the next couple of weeks.

As a senior, his departure from the program next year will definitely be felt. Nebraska football has some great players coming up in the secondary. However, there is no easy way to replace Jackson’s leadership. Especially given all that he went through last year, it has been nice to see the turnaround.
