Hudson Valley Community College baseball's Wenstrom receives national award – The Daily Gazette

TROY — Hudson Valley Community College baseball’s Jackson Wenstrom is this year’s recipient of the Lea Plarski Award, which is presented annually to an NJCAA student-athlete who “exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, community service, academic excellence and athletic ability.”

Wenstrom is HVCC’s first winner of the award, which was created in 1995. Wenstrom, who is from North Dakota, starred for HVCC for two seasons after coming to the college after serving in the U.S. Army. His 23 home runs are a program-best total, and Wenstrom also finished with a .418 batting average and 103 RBIs.
