Nebraska Cornhuskers men’s basketball coach Tim Miles was excited after his team defeated Rutgers to open the Big Ten Tournament.

Perhaps a little too excited.

Miles was jogging off the floor at the United Center in Chicago, when he accidentally tripped and fell near the tunnel. The Nebraska coach played it off well, however; Miles got up and signaled a safe call as if he was a MLB umpire. Watch the video below to see Miles’ tumble to ground.

“I’m fine,” Miles told reporters after the fall. “You know, I’ve just — the wires they jumped up and got me. I thought I was a better athlete than that. But I’m old, I’m old…I think it got caught on TV according to everybody that’s rubbing it in on me. So, yeah. I would say that’s a lot of exhilaration, but, yeah, just enough clumsiness to keep things interesting.”

The Cornhuskers (17-15) beat Rutgers in Wednesday’s opening round, 68-61, advancing to face the Maryland Terrapins (22-9) on Thursday at 3 p.m. It’s the third meeting of the season between the two teams, with Maryland taking both of the first two. Nebraska, seeded 13th after a thoroughly disappointing season, ended the regular season with an incredible comeback win against Iowa.

Nebraska gutted out a win against Rutgers on Wednesday despite trailing for most of the game. The Huskers overcame a 3-for-15 night from 3-point range by getting to the free throw line 32 times, finishing the game with a 22-10 run in the final seven minutes. Standout forward James Palmer, a Washington native, scored 34 points and got to the line 22 times in the win. Palmer’s proven to be a difficult matchup for Maryland, averaging more than 20 points per game in their meetings.
